Premier League: Top 20 transfer targets - who should be signed? (1)

With nine games (or slightly more, for some) remaining of the 2013/14 Premier League season, plenty of issues are still left to be decided heading into the final straight.

The title race is arguably as open as it has ever been, with Chelsea currently top with a four-point cushion but being pushed all the way by Liverpool, Arsenal - who face the Blues at Stamford Bridge on Saturday - and the might of Manchester City.

At the bottom end, the race to avoid dreaded relegation down to the Championship also looks to be going down to the wire, with the likes of Fulham, Cardiff, Sunderland, Norwich and Crystal Palace all fighting tooth-and-nail to preserve their treasured top-flight status.

Despite the myriad of issues still needing to be resolved in the Premier League, however, attentions are beginning to already turn to the next transfer window which will open once again during the summer.

Although there is, of course, an awful lot of football yet to be played before teams once again go on a frenzied hunt for new recruits and reinforcements, there is simply no stopping the rumour mill at the moment as some of the biggest clubs in the land are linked with swoop after swoop for a plethora of highly-talented individuals.

Given the sheer weight of transfer rumours that have been doing the rounds just recently, we thought we would have a look at the players being linked with moves too and indeed away from the Premier League's biggest clubs (we've also thrown in a couple of extra targets for the biggest European teams for good measure).

More specifically, we intend to look at players who occupy the same positions who have been linked with the same club before casting our own opinion on which of them should be signed.
