Manchester United skipper Nemanja Vidic has spoken on the phone with Manchester City star Edin Dzeko in an attempt to convince the Bosnian striker to join him in signing for Inter Milan this summer, claim sensational reports in Italy.

TuttoMercato speculates that the United centre-back, who has already agreed a deal to move to the San Siro once his contract at Old Trafford expires in just a few months, wants Dzeko to commit to the very same switch so that the pair can be team-mates as opposed to rivals in the Serie A. The City striker has been linked with a move to the Italian giants on and off for the past few months, but there has been no concrete evidence given that he is looking to leave the Etihad.

With half of Europe said to be considering a move for Dzeko, it’s unlikely that a phone call from Vidic will outright decide his future. However what’s more interesting is the fact that the United man is now seemingly acting as an ambassador for Inter, even though he has yet to join up with the squad.

Dzeko isn’t the only other Premier League star who has been targeted by Inter, as new, mega-rich, owner Erick Thohir looks determined to completely revamp his squad with talent. Arsenal’s Bacary Sagna has also been named in connection with the San Siro, as has Patrice Evra.
