World Cup 2014: Potential All-Star XI (3)

Right-back: Philipp Lahm | Germany (Bayern Munich)

Football News

At the age of 30, this could be Philipp Lahm’s last World Cup. Sure, he’s got enough good years ahead of him to make the Germany’s 2018 World Cup squad, but it’s no guarantee - especially when you consider the number of fine players the Nationalmannschaft have available.

Right now, though, Lahm is at the peak of his powers. The versatile right-back, who has played much of the season for Bayern Munich in a midfield position, will be hoping to captain Germany to a fourth World Cup triumph.

It certainly won’t be easy; however, Germany should escape from a group containing Portugal, Ghana and the United States. And not many wingers will get the better off the brilliant Lahm.
