World Cup 2014: Potential All-Star XI (6)

Left-back: Mattia De Sciglio | Italy (AC Milan)

Football News

Whether Italy boss Cesare Prandelli selects Mattia De Sciglio at right or left-back is up to him - the AC Milan star is comfortable in either position. But the Azzurri coach will be assured that his young full-back has the talent to deal with anything which comes his way.

The 21-year-old has a couple of tough challenge in the group stages - namely against England and Uruguay - but Italy are defensively solid, as they have been coming into almost every other World Cup, and are unlikely to give too many goals away.

De Sciglio is also comfortably venturing forward, meaning opposition wingers and full-backs will need to keep a close eye on his marauding runs down the flanks.
