Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has revealed that he sees a number of the Manchester City first team stars on a regular basis.

In an interview with MUTV, which has been reported on Manchester United's official site, the Red Devils' keeper has admitted that he's in contact with the likes of David Silva, Alvaro Negredo and Jesus Navas, who are all Spaniards.

De Gea was asked: In the City side are David Silva, Alvaro Negredo and Jesus Navas. Are you friends with these guys? Do you see them very often?

The Manchester United 'keeper responded by saying: "I do see them quite a bit. I know them and, although they are part of a team with whom we have a massive rivalry, it’s still nice to see so many Spaniards on the opposition team."

De Gea has been one of Manchester United's better performers in a season of disappointment for David Moyes and Co.

Manchester United and City are set to go head-to-head at Old Trafford tonight and the Red Devils star will be hoping to get one over on his fellow Spaniards.

United head into the game in decent form, having beaten Olympiacos and West Ham United in their last two outings.

Meanwhile, City will be desperate to secure all three points at the Theatre of Dreams, as they look to continue their title charge. Manuel Pellegrini's side sit in third place in the Premier League table, six points behind leaders Chelsea.
