Real Madrid have played a prominent role in ensuring Tottenham lead the charts when it comes to transfer income, with Los Blancos accounting for both the record departures from White Hart Lane.

Luka Modric was the first to leave north London for Madrid, completing a transfer worth £33 million in 2012, while Gareth Bale followed the Croatian in a world record deal the following summer.
