WWE superstar, Rey Mysterio has been credited as the inspiration behind the jersey which Mexico will wear at the World Cup in Brazil this summer.
As revealed in a video published by Adidas, the design team have used Mexico's 'wrestling culture' as a main design point which has resulted in the red and white jagged lines on the chest of the jersey.
Richard Gray, editor of WrestlingNewsWorld.com, gave credit to Mysterio for the jersey tweeting:
"What an honor for @ReyMysterio as it was his mask used for inspiration behind Mexico's World Cup shirts."
Mysterio, was born in California but has been known in wrestling circles as representing the traditional Mexican wrestler. He last appeared in the WWE Royal Rumble earlier this year.
Mexico have been drawn in Group A for the World Cup which begins on the 12th June. They will face hosts Brazil, Croatia and Cameroon. This will be their 15th appearance in a World Cup, they have previously managed no better than the quarterfinal stage.
