Real Madrid starlet Jese Rodriguez has had a rough week. After being struck down with a cruciate ligament injury, he has had his recovery from surgery interrupted by his house catching fire and had to be saved by firefighters.

According to Spanish publication AS, the Spain Under-21 star had to be evacuated from his villa after a fire broke out in the car garage attached to the building. The report claims he was fortunate to escape unharmed as three men working in the garage were hospitalised.

All three men were treated for smoke inhalation, while one of the workers had to be treated after suffering serious burns. Rodriguez was on crutches after surgery and the report claimed firefighters had to take him to safety.

His Santiago Bernabeu teammate Alvaro Arbeloa also lives in the area and AS say the former Liverpool defender was on hand to put up the young forward. Jese will be cursing his luck after a nightmare seven days as he had been finally showing more consistent good form with the chances he has been given.

Carlo Ancelotti was impressed with the 21-year-old after he scored five goals in six games last month and it looked as though he would get something of a run in the first team. However, he has not found the net since the middle of February, though it will be touch for him to break into the starting XI with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema all playing well.
