The Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder faced off last night in a game that pitched together two small forwards who are both destined for the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Durant are two very different guys, but they both do one thing excellently...put up points.

And they showed it last night as the veteran Nowitzki put up 32 points, while the man leading the MVP race blew up for 43.

The two went at each other all night;backing down, crossing over, and pulling up in each others faces for bucket after bucket. And it was glorious to watch.

The two sides were level at the end of regulations so fans at home and the ones present at the American Airlines Center were treated to free basketball, and no one was turning this off early.

It was Nowitzki and the Mavs that came out victorious when all was said and done, but it shouldn't take away from what was a battle between two true greats of the modern game.
