Mark Sanchez will sign for the Philadelphia Eagles today, according to NFL insider Jason La Canfora, as the former New York Jets quarterback is ready to become Chip Kelly's new pet project.

Eagles head coach Kelly completely reshaped the NFC East team's offense for last season as they went about changing their style, with the former Oregon head coach implementing a high up tempo offense.

This was a revelation for the league as premier Eagles wide-receiver DeSean Jackson had a career year alongside starting QB Nick Foles.

Kelly is not just happy with Foles at quarterback, and with the team allowing Michael Vick to head towards free agency and join the Jets, Sanchez is now seen as the best back-up option available.

La Canfora tweeted today, "Mark Sanchez is signing with the Eagles today. Sanchez will be Chip Kelly's next project. So far the coach has a golden touch."

As back-up QB's go, Sanchez is a pretty good option. The former Jet spent five seasons with Gang Green, and he has plenty of playoff experience - having won four road games in the post-season on his way to back to back appearance in the AFC Championship Game.
