The Miami Heat now trail the Indiana Pacers by three games in the Eastern Conference with just a few weeks remaining in the season. But now they face a tricky game agains the Detroit Pistons with a severely depleted roster.

Brian Windhorst of ESPN tweeted out an injury report earlier today for the defending NBA champions:

"Mario Chalmers (quad), Ray Allen (flu), Greg Oden (back) out for Heat at Pistons. Dwyane Wade (hamstring) still gametime decision"

Ray Allen missed the Heat's defeat to the Pacers this week with the flu condition and it looks like he will remain on the sidelines for at least one more game as he recovers. Wade has suffered with a number of injuries this season as coach Erik Spoelstra has attempted to limit his minutes.

Oden of course, has been notorious for his injury past and has never played a full NBA season since being drafted in 2007.

The Heat will be able to use stars LeBron James and Chris Bosh and should still rise to victory over what is a pretty average Pistons team.

Spoelstra will just be thankful that the playoffs are a few weeks away and will hope that his beaten up team can regain their health for a run at a third straight NBA championship.
