Chelsea midfielder Jon Obi Mikel is hoping to secure a move away from the club at the end of the season with opportunities having become increasingly limited at Stamford Bridge.

Nemanja Matic was recruited in January and has established himself as a first-choice holding midfielder, while David Luiz has also been favoured ahead of Mikel. Galatasaray are an option for the Nigerian.

Tim Sherwood had an opportunity to sign Luis Suarez for Tottenham when working on Harry Redkanpp’s coaching team, but blew the chance to recruit the striker from Ajax.

Ruud Gullit claims he advised Sherwood to sanction a move for Suarez after the new Spurs boss had watched the Uruguayan play, but Spurs decided not to pursue a transfer.
