Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole has been offered the chance to join La Liga giants Real Madrid.

The Sun suggest the 33-year-old has an £8million two-year deal on the table should he choose to leave Chelsea at the end of the season.

Cole’s future is up in the air at the moment as he will become a free agent at the end of the campaign if he does not extend his contract with the Blues.

The England international has fallen behind Chelsea teammate Cesar Azpilicueta in the pecking order and could be replaced by Luke Shaw if Jose Mourinho is able to snare him away from Southampton.

Cole has reportedly been told he will be offered a new deal to stay at Stamford Bridge, however he could choose to reject the chance of seeing out his career at Chelsea if he cannot be assured of regular first-team football.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is keen on signing Cole, who he worked with during his time at Chelsea, as he wants to bring in someone who will challenge Marcelo at left-back.
