Manchester United starlet wanted by Norwich

Norwich City have joined the race to sign Manchester United starlet Nick Powell this summer, according to The Daily Mail.

The midfielder, who has been on loan at Championship outfit Wigan in this campaign, has had a fine season having already scored 12 goals for the Latics.

And now it appears that a number of Premier League clubs could try and tempt him with a move in the next transfer window.

Recent reports have suggested that Swansea are ready to make a move for the Manchester United ace, but they may now have to go head-to-head with Norwich for the player's signature.

If reports are to be believed, Manchester United don't want the player to leave the club on a permanent basis, but are interested in letting him go on another loan switch.

Ex-Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson previously insisted that Powell could fill the boots of Paul Scholes, however his long term future now appears uncertain.

For now though, Powell will concentrate on his duties with Wigan, whilst Manchester United will look ahead to their Champions League quarter-final showdown with Bayern Munich tomorrow evening.
