Philadelphia Eagles head coach, Chip Kelly has rejected a wedding invite from a fan because the big day falls on a rather special day in the NFL calendar.

Kelly responded to the Eagles themed invite from Thomas Froschle and Maryanne Goslee, which stated the date as May 10th: "Thank you so much for the invite, but we have the draft that weekend!"

The NFL draft will be held in May this year after being held in April every year since 1986. Because of the schedule change, it is probably the NFL and it's commissioner, Roger Goodell who are to blame for Kelly's non-attendance.

Froschle and Goslee are obviously huge Eagles fans and indeed it is not just the invites which are Eagles-themed.

"The tables are all decorated as Eagles players, and we're also setting up a Chip Kelly table," Goslee said. "We're coming out to the Eagles fight song too, so it's getting pretty intense."

It could prove to be an important draft for Chip Kelly and his Eagles as he looks to build around a team which secured a playoff berth for the first time under their new head coach last season. Kelly has already brought in quarterback, Mark Sanchez to add some depth and made the somewhat controversial decision to release DeSean Jackson last week.

Who do you think the Eagles will take in the draft? Let us know in the comments.
