In honour of Diego’s stunning goal for Atletico Madrid against Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals last night, we’ve created a team full of players capable of score spectacular goals.

It was tough to whittle it down to just 11, and players such as Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale, Barcelona’s Neymar and AC Milan’s Mario Balotelli deserve an honourable mention.

Just like those three high-profile stars, the players who feature in this Spectacular Goalscorers XI have all scored more than one stunning goal during this careers - while a few of them could fill a 30-minute YouTube compilation of their most outstanding strikes.

Each slide features a YouTube link at the bottom in order for you to view the players’ best goals, so put your feet up, make yourself a cup of tea and enjoy the show!

Feel like someone else should have made the cut in one of the positions? Let us know in the comments section below and provide us with examples of their spectacular goals.
