ESPN 980 Redskins Reporter Chris Russell said that he would quit if former Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson signed for the Redskins and now free agent Jackson has completed his move to Washington.

Everyone makes promises they regret but can reporter Russell really backtrack on comments he made live on the radio?

Russell said last Friday afternoon whilst the deal was still in its early stages: "Here’s one thing I feel good about, Listen, and I’ll say this on the radio. And [VP of Programming Chuck] Sapienza might get mad at me, but I’ll quit if the Redskins sign DeSean Jackson, ok?”

He also went on to add: "To me, this is the last thing the Redskins – even though it would potentially hurt the Eagles and it could draw [Washington] closer to the top of the division – this is the LAST thing the Redskins, in my opinion, should ever consider or need to take on,”

Now Russell is in a seriously sticky situation as the ex-Eagles speedster has just completed a deal that will see him join RG3 in the Redskins uniform next year and fans have already taken to social media sites to question Russell on whether he will stay true to his word.

It is yet to be known whether Russell retains his position at the this present time but one thing for sure is that he has a lot of questions to answer and perhaps may not be foolish enough to put his job on the line as you know, anything can happen in the NFL.
