Manchester United will be in Portugal to assess on-loan star Bebe this weekend, when his Pacos de Ferreira side take on Sporting Lisbon.

According to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo the reigning Premier League champions are set to keep an eye on Bebe, who was a massive flop at Old Trafford before being shipped out on loan to gather experience. Since his temporary move to Pacos the Portuguese star has become a key member of the squad, and his goals have helped the club stave off the looming prospect of relegation.

Bebe has just one year left on his current deal at United, and the general consensus from fans and critics alike is that he will be released rather than offered any sort of extension. Having looked well out of his depth during his brief stint in Manchester, there were many who questioned why Sir Alex Ferguson agreed to sign him in the first place, so the prospect of Moyes bringing him back to the club isn’t likely to be welcomed by the masses.

The 23-year-old isn’t the only player United will be overseeing at the weekend, as O Jogo claims Carlos Mane and William Carvalho, who both play for Sporting Lisbon, will be watched as well.
