Pat Riley famously threw down his championship rings in front of LeBron James and Chris Bosh to convince them to come to Miami and it's been heard that Bosh actually kept one for himself.

During the free agency summer of 2010, Riley hatched a plan of bringing James and Bosh to south beach to build a dynasty in Miami that could win multiple championships.

Riley being a man who knows how to win an NBA title made his sales pitch to both players and it included some pretty incredible props, the Team President threw down a bag of championship rings in front of James and Bosh.

Michael Wallace of reported how Bosh felt about the unusual situation he had found himself in: "He gave me one of his championship rings from 2006, and was like, ‘You give me that back when you come here and win yours. So I took it. I was like, ‘Oh, man!’ Don’t tell me to take something if you don’t want me to take it.

Whether Riley was serious or not is unknown but one thing for sure is that Bosh wasn't going to miss his chance to get his hands on a championship ring, Bosh was asked about that particular ring today: "I’ve still got it, too. But I told him I’d give it back after this year.”

Bosh now has two championship rings of his own since joining Miami so I think he can afford to give back the one he took of Team President Riley.
