Pharrell features in new NBA link-up

'Get Lucky' pop star Pharrell has linked up with the NBA to promote environmental awareness next week.

The super-producer runs his own textile company, Bionic Yarn, and has partnered with Adidas and the NBA to design a range of special T-shirts recycled out of plastic bottles.

The "Go Green" initiative is a week-long promotion event designed to raise awareness about the responsibility that comes with looking after your environment.

A number of community service projects and education programs have been put on for young and old alike, and continuing through April 10, the Green Week will bring in the expertise of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and the Green Sports Alliance.

From the NBA Green "Reimagination!" through to the Sprint Buyback Program, where NBA fans can recycle their old phones and use that credit to purchase a new one, there's plenty of activities, events and programs to get involved .

And what about the NBA superstars themselves? Well, throughout Green Week the world's best basketball players will wear jerseys made out of 100 per cent organic cotton.
