Football News

He may have just finished the second year of a five-year, $25.5 million extension with the franchise, but Evan Mathis has been sent a very sub-par pay-check by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Mathis posted a picture of his cheque received from the Eagles for a whopping zero dollars and 00 cents on his personal Instagram page.

He may of just come off the back of his first career Pro-Bowl appearance but clearly Mathis is being undervalued by the NFL franchise.

It was all taken in good spirit though as Mathis posted it with the caption: "Hell yeah, just got my signing bonus."

Many Instagram users took the opportunity to slam the Eagles strict financial spending plan and many more saw the joke being made and responded with comments such as: "Looks just like the average Americans signing bonus."

The Eagles are in the news a lot lately over their 'controversial' release of Wide Receiver DeSean Jackson who signed with the Washington Redskins on Wednesday.

Mathis's picture may bring some more unwanted attention to the franchise but for most people, it is just another comical occurance in Philadelphia
