WWE's big week following Wrestlemania received another boost when they took home three awards at the annual Shorty award ceremony for best use of social media.

The company took home awards for best branded mobile app, best YouTube channel and best use of social media in sports.

According to WWE.com, the most competitive category was the best branded mobile app where they beat out competition from Nike, Visa and MTV for the gong.

They also beat leagues such as the NBA and NFL, who boast many athletes with twitter accounts, for best use of social media.

The awards are voted on by figures from entertainment, journalism and technology. This year's panel according to WWE.com included: "Instagram co-founder Mike Krieger, Apple luminary Steve Wozniak, and technologist and author David Pogue."

WWE's 30th edition of Wrestlemania was heralded as a great success with the WWE's own network on track for one million subscriptions.

Hulk Hogan, The Rock and Stone Cold all made appearances during the show's opening segment as the Undertaker's Wrestlemania win streak ended and Daniel Bryan won the World Heavyweight Championship.
