Bayern Munich: Thomas Muller
It’s difficult to call any member of the Bayern Munich squad an unsung hero, but Thomas Muller is perhaps the closest thing they have.
Asked to list Bayern Munich’s three most dangerous players, the majority of people would probably name Bastian Schweinsteiger alongside Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben. Toni Kroos has also received a lot of attention over recent months, while Philipp Lahm is now getting the credit he deserves after previously being the club’s unsung hero.
But Muller is a fantastic player. Capable of playing in multiple positions across the front line and always willing to work tirelessly for his team - whether as a substitute or a starter - the 24-year-old Germany international must be a dream to coach.
Having scored 95 goals in 246 matches for Bayern, and 16 goals in 47 games for Germany, Muller is a genuine class act who deserves more attention. And, let’s not forget, we’re talking about the player who won the 2010 World Cup Golden Boot award here.
