Wrestling great Ultimate Warrior was once completely destroyed by Vince McMahon and the WWF in 1991 by a statement about his dispute with the organisation.
The very popular wrestler passed away at the age of 54 yesterday, and immediately fans across the globe took to all forms of social media to pay their tributes and share their grief.
For quite a lot of fans of wrestling entertainment, exposer to Ultimate Warrior was part an parcel of their first exposure to the world of wresting.
WWF, as the WWE was formerly known, was the place where the famous wrestler made his name and gathered his many upon many fans.
However, 23 years ago he left the WWF briefly in acrimonious circumstances, with the organisation issuing a relatively damming statement against the wrestler.
Furthermore, the Ultimate Warrior's timing of death was unfortunate for him and the organization, with the two sides seeming to have buried the hatchet just a few days prior.
It seemed back in 1991, Ultimate Warrior wanted to be paid at the same rate as the great Hulk Hogan.
“Frankly, you have become impossible to work with, and have completely forgotten your obligations to Titan and WWF fans, both ethically, professionally, and contractually,” the letter reads according to the Big League.
“Your principal complaint apparently is that you are not being compensated at the same rate as Hulk Hogan, although “Hulk” is a living legend, is still better known to the public, has wrestled longer, is the WWF champion, is in much greater demand for personal appearances, is a bigger star and draw at WWF events, is more dependable and is far more revered and respected by WWF fans and by the public at large.”
