Major League Baseball, and everyone connected with it, is honoring the memory of Jackie Robinson today.

Teams across the country are planning on showing their respect for the legendery player who became the first African-American to play in the big league back in 1947.

But, after rain hit New York today, the Yankees have had to put their plans on ice - as well as their scheduled game against the Chicago Cubs.

The powers that be confirmed this morning that there will be no play Tuesday at Yankee Stadium due to inclement weather, with the game shifted to Wednesday instead to form a day-night doubleheader.

Accordingly, the Yankees' plans to honor both Robinson, and Nelson Mandella this evening have also been moved to Wednesday.

The rearranged game will take place at 1.05 ET, with game two beginning at 7.05 ET.

Tickets purchased for Tuesday's game will still be valid when the action gets under way tomorrow.
