The Civil War is one of the most recognizable events in American history, and left a scar on the American consciousness that lingers even 149 years after it ended.

This is why so many people have flocked to twitter to check out the Columbus Crew's welcome poster to the new MLS franchise set to begin play in Atlanta, Georgia in 2017.

The poster features Ohio-native and union general William Tecumseh Sherman, who led the march of union troops through Atlanta, and burned the city to the ground in September of 1864.

Even though the Atlanta squad won't suit up until after the next presidential election, the north has apparently already fired the first shot.
