Liverpool could be set to battle Hertha Berlin for Bayern Munich star Diego Contento this summer, according to talkSPORT

As reported by Bild, the full-back will be made available by Pep Guardiola in the up coming transfer market, which could lead to Liverpool reigniting their interest in the star.

The Reds reportedly made a move for the player's services last summer, and now it appears Brendan Rodgers could swoop for him once again in the near future.

Contento has fallen out of favour at the Bavarians, having only started on six occasions in the league this term.

And, at 23-years-old, the left-back seemingly has a bright future ahead of him, but it remains to be seen as to whether the Liverpool boss makes a second attempt at bringing him to Anfield.

For now though, Liverpool will be fully focussed on their crunch clash with title rivals Chelsea this weekend.

Rodgers' side can take another step towards glory with a victory against Jose Mourinho's side at Anfield.
