On tonight’s episode of TNA Impact Wrestling, four time World Tag Team champions Beer Money Inc. will reunite for one night only.
Bobby Roode and James Storm, who ended their three and a half year affiliation in 2011, have rarely been seen competing alongside each other, since Roode’s betrayal of the Cowboy won him the TNA World Heavyweight Title.
But the pair will put their differences aside this evening, when they combine to tackle two separate feuds: Roode’s with Bully Ray, and Storm’s with Gunner.
Roode’s disagreement with Bully Ray dates back to last month’s Lockdown pay-per-view, when Ray cost Roode’s team victory in the Lethal Lockdown match, and with it his chance of becoming a 10% owner of the company.
Storm and Gunner have been feuding since last year. It can be dated as far back as last October’s Bound for Glory event, when the duo lost their TNA World Tag Team titles to the Bro Mans. Gunner then angered the Cowboy by throwing in the towel during his match against Roode in the World Title tournament. And their relationship finally reached its end when both wrestlers entered the Feast or Fired event, and Gunner clambered over Storm to retrieve the briefcase that proved to hold a World Title shot.
From June to September 2011, Roode and Storm were two of the twelve participants in the Bound for Glory Series to determine the number one contender to the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
When the group stage of the tournament concluded, both of them finished in the top four and thus advanced to the finals at No Surrender along with Bully Ray and Gunner. Storm was eliminated from the tournament after losing to Ray via disqualification, while Roode defeated Gunner via submission to set up a tiebreaker match against Ray later in the event, in which Roode managed to pick up the win via pin-fall.
Roode was pinned by Kurt Angle at Bound for Glory, after the referee failed to notice his arm under the ropes or Angle using the ropes for leverage. On the following episode of Impact Wrestling, after it was revealed that Roode was not eligible for a rematch with Angle, new authority figure Sting gave the next title shot to James Storm, who was successful against the five-time Champion.
On the November 3 episode of Impact Wrestling, Roode defeated Storm to win the title, after hitting him with his own beer bottle. Strom held the title for just eight days.
