Manchester United supporters will be fascinated to see how newly-appointed interim manager Ryan Giggs lines up against Norwich City this weekend.

The Welshman, who has replaced the sacked David Moyes until the end of the season, takes charge of the Red Devils for the very first time - and all eyes will be on United’s record appearance holder when he takes his place in the dugout.

Giggs confirmed that the only Manchester United players currently unavailable for selection are Robin van Persie and Rafael, both of whom are sidelined through injury.

The rest of the squad are fit and available - and all will have been hoping to impress Giggs over these last few days in training.

Reports suggest Giggs will play some of those who were left on the fringes of the first team by Moyes, with Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley both returning to the starting line-up.

It’s believed that Moyes’ two signings, Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini, could drop down to the substitutes’ bench.

Both Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic could return to the heart of United’s defence, while Patrice Evra is expected to replace Alexander Buttner.

Darren Fletcher is likely to retain his place in the starting line-up, while Cleverley could take the place of Michael Carrick, unless Giggs opts to deploy a three-man midfield.

Adnan Januzaj could start out on the left, with Antonio Valencia on the right; while Welbeck could lead the line, way Wayne Rooney playing in the hole, just behind his England teammate.

Manchester United: Predicted XI v Norwich:

De Gea; Smalling, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra; Fletcher, Cleverley; Januzaj, Rooney, Valencia; Welbeck
