Indiana Pacers coach hits out at players after playoff loss

The Indiana Pacers fell to their second defeat of the postseason last night when they lost to the Atlanta Hawks 98-85 on the road.

The Pacers now trail the series 2-1 and Pacers coach, Frank Vogel was less than happy with his team during media availability today.

Pacers beat reporter for the IndyStar, Candace Buckner tweeted: "Vogel: "Got to play better. Got to play with more passion and more energy and more heart and more guts. It’s what we got to do."

Which was followed with a rather personal dig at Hibbert from the coach:

"Vogel on how he can get Hibbert better looks inside: "He’s got to get himself better looks inside."

Vogel has been rumored to be coaching for his job amidst criticism that the Pacers are underachieving after a strong season last year.

There is no doubt that the Pacers have been struggling since the All-Star break and very nearly lost the number one seed in the east because of it. They are now making hard-work of the eighth seeded Atlanta Hawks and could well be eliminated if they fail to improve.

It is unclear what exactly the problem with the Pacers is. It could be down to a chemistry issue, which is likely with star player Roy Hibbert vocal on a number of team issues, or simply fatigue from trying to beat the Miami Heat so much this season.

Whatever the issue is, it needs to be rectified within the next week otherwise Vogel may find himself without a team to coach.
