Ashley Cole could leave the Chelsea waiting amid suggestions the club are ready to offer him a new contract, reports The Telegraph

If reports are to be believed, Blues boss Jose Mourinho wants to keep him at the club beyond the end of this campaign.

Cole could be set for a new deal with the club, despite having struggled for opportunities in recent time.

The England international has been replaced by Cesar Azpilicueta in the starting XI over the last few months, but has enjoyed a successful return to the set up in recent weeks.

The left-back has played a starring role in the Blues' recent games against the likes of Atletico Madrid and Liverpool, and now he looks set to be rewarded with a new contract.

A number of clubs appear to be interested in Cole, with Premier League and European sides reportedly interested in his services.

For now though, Cole and Co. will be concentrating on the Champions League semi-final second leg, as Chelsea look to reach their third successive European final.
