Despite CM Punk's apparent recent presence in St. Louis, the wrestling star did not make a return to the WWE on Monday night.

According to reports from F4Wonline.com cited by WrestlingInc.com, Punk has been spotted attending hockey games in St Louis - the location of this week's edition of Monday Night Raw - but his presence in the area appears merely coincidental as he was nowhere to be seen at Scottrade Center.

This continued absence is likely to disappoint fans of the three-time world heavyweight champion, with Punk - real name Phillip Jack Brooks - having initially disappeared from screens back in January.

His departure has curiously never really been explained or confirmed, leading many to continue to foster hopes that the popular Chicago native could make a triumphant comeback to the company.

Indeed, there was even a feeling among some that he could make that sensational return at Wrestlemania XXX earlier this month, but the showpiece event unfortunately passed without an appearance from 'the best in the world'.
