Liverpool target Dejan Lovren could be sold by Southampton this summer, according to

Lovren has had a fine season at the Saints, having played a key role in their top half Premier League finish under Mauricio Pochettino.

But now it appears he could leave the club this summer, amid rumours of outstanding transfer debt at the club.

It remains to be seen as to whether Liverpool step up in their pursuit of the defender in the near future, but it looks likely that it will be a busy summer on Merseyside.

Brendan Rodgers has steered Liverpool back into the Champions League this season - and could yet win the title - so he will be looking to improve his squad ahead of next season.

Liverpool's defensive record hasn't been great despite their title challenge, and Lovren's presence would only increase competition at Anfield.

For now though, Liverpool fans will be concentrating on the title run in as the Reds travel to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace next Monday.
