Chris Benoit's son, David is set to make his professional wrestling debut later this year, according to Wrestlinginc.com.

Benoit junior had been training with Canadian wrestler David Hart Smith and had expressed a desire to join the ranks of pro-wrestling.

It appears that time has now arrived with Wrestlinginc reporting: "Smith Hart announced on Twitter last night that Benoit will make his in-ring debut on July 18th at a Hart Legacy Wrestling event in Calgary. Benoit will team with Chavo Guerrero in a tag match."

Chris Benoit married twice, having two children David and Megan with his first wife before later remarrying and having another son, Daniel.

In June of 2007 it was discovered that Chris had murdered his second wife along with his son Daniel before committing suicide.

WWE have since distanced themselves from Benoit amidst concerns over steroid abuse. However it was later confirmed that there was no indication that anything in Benoit's body had contributed to the deaths of his family.

David's partner, Chavo Guerrero along with Eddie Guerrero was considered a close friend of Chris before his death in 2007.
