LeBron James is probably the most famous athlete in America. He is a real multi-media superstar, with shoe deals, commercials and all the rings to match.

However now, James is expanding into the world of technology by teaming up with Samsung to create a brand new app for mobile devices.

According to Fansided, the app will allow fans of King James to access the latest news, pictures and videos of the NBA superstar.

In addition, James will allow fans an insight into his training regimen and how he prepares for games. The star's foundation, charity work and family life will also have sections for fans to peruse.

On the surface, the app may seem like a bit of a pointless endeavour. After all, fans can always check traditional media for the latest on-court exploits of LeBron.

However, the NBA and LeBron James in particular have always been at the forefront of social engagement and finding new ways to involve his fans in his career. Even, LeBron's 'the Decision' TV show was designed to give fans and the media an insight to areas of his life which other stars might not be willing to stretch to.

The app will be available for Galaxy S 5, Galaxy S 4, Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note 3, and Galaxy Note® II via Google play.
