Liverpool full-back Jose Enrique appeared to mock Chelsea after their Champions League exit at the hands of Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night.

As reported by The Metro, Spanish defender Enrique - who has been out of action since November with a knee injury - took to social networking website Twitter following the Blues' 3-1 home defeat to Atletico Madrid and seemingly couldn't resist a slight dig at Jose Mourinho's style of football.

"This is what happens when you don't play football......," the 28-year-old wrote shortly after the full-time whistle.

And while Enrique didn't mention Chelsea specifically by name, the timing of the tweet - followed by later entries praising Atletico - leave little doubt as to indeed who he was referring to.

Debate over Chelsea's style under Mourinho initially began to rage on Sunday afternoon, with many Liverpool fans - as well as manager Bendan Rodgers - seemingly agitated by their defensive setup during an important and keenly-anticipated Premier League tie on Merseyside.

Such an approach to the game worked extremely well for Mourinho on that occasion, however, with Chelsea departing Anfield with a 2-0 win courtesy of goals from Demba Ba and Willian.

That defeat dealt a sizable blow to Liverpool's chances of winning their first top-flight title in 24 years, with Manchester City now potentially back in the running.

However, that same aspect of caution did not prove so successful for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, with Diego Costa and Arda Turan ensuring that it is Diego Simeone's side who go on to contest the final against Real Madrid in Lisbon later this month.
