Manchester United will only target the world's best players as they look to reclaim their place amongst Europe's elite next year, according to The Manchester Evening News.

If reports are to be believed, the Red Devils are interested in the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Mats Hummels, Toni Kroos and Edinson Cavani as they look to spend up to £200 million.

The Red Devils have had a disastrous season, having slumped to seventh place in the Premier League table.

There will be no Champions League football at Old Trafford next season, but the club appear determined to rebuild in the up coming market.

And it appears that the Red Devils want to strengthen in every position as they look to improve in the 2014/15 campaign.

Hummels could be seen as a replacement for Nemanja Vidic, who has already agreed a deal with Italian outfit Inter Milan. Meanwhile, the likes of Kroos and Fabregas would increase the club's options in the middle of the park.

Despite the fact that Manchester United have a number of top class strikers, they still seem likely to make a move for PSG striker Cavani.

It's certainly expected to be a busy summer at The Theatre of Dreams, and Manchester United fans will be hoping some of the elite stars of world football arrive this summer.
