Manchester United: Van Gaal wants £32m Strootman

Football News

With Louis van Gaal expected to be named the new boss of Manchester United in the near future, The Express are reporting that the Dutch coach wants to bring central-midfielder Kevin Strootman to Old Trafford this summer.

Strootman, who has worked under Van Gaal for Holland, has been ruled out of the World Cup with a knee injury, however it appears the manager wants to bring him to the Theatre of Dreams.

Despite his injury problems throughout this campaign, Strootman is regarded extremely highly and has been dubbed the 'Dutch Roy Keane'.

And reports from Italy have suggested that Van Gaal has already asked Strootman to join him at Manchester United.

However, if United are to secure the player's services in the up coming window, it appears that the Red Devils will have to pay up to £32 million in order to sign him.

It remains to be seen as to whether the midfielder would be willing to depart Roma, but it now looks likely that Manchester United - under Van Gaal - will make a move for him in the near future.
