Manchester United will make a £25million move for Bayern Munich ace Arjen Robben if Louis van Gaal is handed the reins at Old Trafford this summer.

Van Gaal is a keen admirer of his compatriot having brought the 30-year-old to the Allianz Arena during his stint at Bayern Munich.

The pair are also set to renew their close working relationship in the summer as Robben is expected to play a key role in the Van Gaal’s Netherlands team.

Manchester United believe they could entice Bayern Munich into selling the former Chelsea winger by offering the German outfit £25million.

The Red Devils came close to signing Robben back in 2004, however they were beaten to his signature by Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Robben has gone on to become a household name in European football by impressing at Bayern Munich after joining the Bundesliga champions in 2009 from Real Madrid.

The Dutchman recently signed a new three-year deal to stay at the Allianz Arena however Manchester United are prepared to offer Robben a pay-rise and believe Van Gaal is capable of persuading him to seal a move back to the Premier League.
