Manchester United winger linked with £5m Old Trafford exit

Manchester United winger Nani is close to agreeing a deal to join Serie A outfit Juventus, according to reports in Italy.

Nani, who was surprisingly handed a new five-year deal in September by former boss David Moyes, is expected to leave Old Trafford in the summer after yet another disappointing season at Manchester United.

The Portuguese international has not been able to impress on a consistent basis since moving to England from Sporting Lisbon in 2007.

Many were tipping Nani to emerge from Cristiano Ronaldo’s shadow following his former teammate's move to Real Madrid, however the 27-year-old has continued to disappoint.

Juventus, who said to be long-term admirers of Nani, are confident of signing the winger for as little as £5million in the summer.

Nani would join up with former Manchester United teammates Carlos Tevez and Paul Pogba if he was to seal a move to the Old Lady and would follow Nemanja Vidic out of Old Trafford to Serie A.

Louis van Gaal, who is expected to be announced as Moyes' replacement in the next few days, will be keen to move Nani on as Arjen Robben is said to be his top summer target.
