Zach Mettenberger believe to be one of the better quarterback prospects entering this years NFL draft has produced a diluted urine sample at the NFL combine which has put his professional future in serious doubt.

There is speculation that Mettenberger may have a drug issue but his trainer has tried to explain the urine sample mishap by exclaiming it was through a result of over-hydration rather than any drug issues.

The NFL has an incredibly strict drug policy and the issue with the quarterback has warned away many franchises from possibly selecting Mettenberger, he has fallen off many experts boards for the potential best quarterbacks available from this years draft.

Kevin Dunn who worked with Mettenberger through an injury recovery process has spoke on the worrying topic and tried to clear up any issues with his urine dilution: "An assumption is made that a player is trying to hide a foreign substance by diluting the sample. A prudent medical team would require a re-test within 24 hours if a sample was diluted to determine if there were in fact any banned substances in their urine.”

Not only has the failed drug test become an issue, but other red flags have been raised by teams surrounding the overall health of the 22-year-old, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL network, several NFL teams have worries over back issues with the quarterback.

Unfortunately for Mettenberger his draft stock continues to plummet but the draft is upon us now, so his future in the professional ranks will be decided today.
