Is this the freakiest goal of all time?

It's time to set the Golazo klaxon off again thanks to a frankly outrageous effort in Ecuador this week, which saw former Burnley midfielder Fernando Guerrero defy gravity to score from next to the corner flag for Independiente Jose Teran.

Guerrero evoked memories of Kanu's amazing strike for Arsenal against Chelsea during a domestic clash with Liga de Loja, seizing on a loose pass near the corner flag before beding an unstoppable drive beyond a bemused opposition goalkeeper from the most ridiculous angle.

Roberto Carlos would be proud of the swerve behind this effort, which seemed to fly perfectly parallel to the upright before finding the target beyond a desperate late goalkeeper's lunge.

Clarets fans will scarcely believe Guerrero is capable of such a strike, beyond a one-off fluke, but the proof is in an amazing effort posted in the video at the top of the page!
