As the Premier League gears up for the final round of fixtures for this season on Sunday, much of the talk is about what will happen beyond a title race that many people are considering to be a foregone conclusion.

Liverpool's collapse at Crystal Palace on Monday night and Manchester City's subsequent thumping of Aston Villa put Manuel Pellegrini's men in the driving seat to claim the trophy and a victory over West Ham United will see them claim it for a second time in three years.

Brendan Rodgers conceded defeat and a lot of the stories being bandied around are concerning the additions the Anfield club will need to prepare them for a Champions League campaign next season. Adam Lallana of Southampton is one of those players being linked with the Reds and there have been developments concerning a proposed transfer.

There is also interesting news for Arsenal fans and the future of veteran Bacary Sagna, whose contract running out at the end of the season and no new deal forthcoming has had most seeing his departure as a forgone conclusion.

Meanwhile, one Manchester United is taking hope from one suprising aspect of this season and vows to make good for the fans on what has been an unmitigated disaster in the aftermath of the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson.
