New York Rangers Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist has been fined $5,000 by the NHL's Department of Player Safety for unsportsmanlike conduct.

The incident happened during game six of the Rangers Stanley Cup Play-off series with the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday.

The incident occurred before the start of the second period in the game and details haven't been fully disclosed yet as no penalties were given in the game.

The Rangers went on to win the game 3-1 thanks to goals from Martin St Louis, Carl Hagelin and Derick Brassard.

The series is currently tied at 3-3 with game seven set to be played on Tuesday and it is shaping up to be an eventful climax to the series.
