CM Punk to make appearance at Chicago Cubs game

WWE fans may want to catch the Chicago Cubs' game against the Milwaukee Brewers on May 17, with speculation suggesting that CM Punk will make an appearance in front of the crowd.

In fact, according to reports from F4WOnline cited by Wrestlinginc.com, Punk - real name Phillip Jack Brooks - will be entertaining the assembled fans at Wrigley Field with a rendition of the classic baseball anthem 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame'.

Former fan's favourite and heavyweight champion CM Punk disappeared from the WWE back in January, with the 'Best in the World' having lasted over an hour in the Royal Rumble before being eliminated in cruel circumstances by the sadistic figure of Kane.

Such an absence - which of course meant that Punk did not appear in any capacity at Wrestlemania 30 in New Orleans last month - has never been fully explained either by the man himself or by any senior figure at the WWE, meaning that his fan's hopes of a potential return have never been fully extinguished.

Punk - a Chicago native known for his fondness for the Windy City's various sports teams - has appeared on television away from wrestling in recent months, however, most notably with on AMC's 'The Talking Dead'.

The Cubs will presumably welcome another appearance from such a recognisable figure, with the team currently lying rock-bottom of the National League with a dreadful 13-24 record.
