Richard Sherman hits out at Patrick Peterson over contract demands

The Arizona Cardinals defensive back, Patrick Peterson could be in line for a massive contract extension after fellow 2011 draftee Richard Sherman was given a new $57 million by the Seattle Seahawks this offseason.

However, Sherman himself seems to have a problem with his rival getting the same pay day that he got.

Speaking on his twitter account, Sherman wrote: "Want what I got? Get the stats I got! Least targeted. #opinionvsfact," the Super Bowl winner included a chart of interceptions over the last three years, of which Sherman was top.

Peterson himself has added more fuel to the fire by stating on CBS Sports that he thought he was worth more than Sherman.

Ultimately, we have to look at the facts and Sherman has recorded the most interceptions out of a very strong bunch of corner backs over the past three seasons. He is also the only one who has a Super Bowl ring.

However, cornerbacks are definitely becoming more valued by NFL franchises and the Cardinals will have to pay top dollar if they want to keep Peterson around in the long term.
