Liverpool are worried that Manchester United will make a move for Southampton star Adam Lallana, according to The Telegraph

If reports are to be believed, the Reds have submitted a bid worth £20 million for the services of the Saints skipper.

However, it appears that Southampton want as much as £25m for the England international, meaning Liverpool chiefs are anxious that they will be rivalled in their pursuit of the player.

Liverpool still remain confident that they will secure a move for the forward, but will want to tie up a deal as soon as possible.

Lallana, who is 26-years-old, has been the standout player for Southampton this season, and has gained many admirers for his consistent displays.

But it appears that Liverpool still have some work to do in order to bring him to Anfield in the up coming market.

Brendan Rodgers' side - unlike Manchester United - will be in Europe's elite competition next season, and they will be desperate to add to their options before the start of the campaign.
