Adam Lallana linked with Liverpool move

Clothing brand FCUK have snapped up Southampton star Adam Lallana as the new face of their brand - but is he off to Liverpool?

The Southampton star was recently announced as a brand ambassador for French Connection, and ahead of the release of his "Pre Fall 14" collection the clothing company has uploaded a short blog post on their website.

It reads: "Fronting our first ever Pre Fall collection, Southampton football star Adam Lallana (soon to be Liverpool!!!) shows us exactly why he's made the England World Cup squad."

Now it seems pretty unlikely that this is the way Lallana wants to announce any move away from his beloved Saints, and in all probability it was probably an over-enthusiastic Reds fan at the controls of FCUK's blog page.

So, if you're a Southampton fan - don't panic, yet. It promises to be a nervy summer for Saints supporters with many of their top young stars regular features on national newspaper gossip columns.

Lallana, who captained Southampton last season, has been with the club through their rise from League One to eighth in the Premier League last term.

But after a fantastic individual season, culminating in his call up for England's World Cup squad, the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United have come knocking.

Update: After speaking with FCUK, we've been assured that their blog was referring to media reports taken from The Sun newspaper earlier this month that linked Lallana with Liverpool.

We have amended the headline to the story to reflect the fact that FCUK are not claiming that Adam Lallana will soon be signing for Liverpool. Instead, they were repeating earlier reports from another source.

The FCUK blog post has now been edited to reflect these facts, although a screenshot of the original post can be see above.
