The Cleveland Cavaliers may have come away with the number one pick in the NBA draft, but it was someone completely different who ended proceedings as the real winner of the lottery draw last night.

After a season of complete tanking to the worst record in the NBA, the Milwaukee Bucks came into the event last night with a 25% chance of picking number one and a plan that ensured Co-Owner Wesley Edens 18-year old daughter Mallory became an instant celebrity.

Mallory Edens represented the organization at the annual event and saw her Twitter account absolutely rocket from 249 followers to more than 32,000 at the time of writing, a percentage increase so big i do not have the time to work it out.

The high school senior, who will graduate next month, was also the top trending topic on the social media site, even as the Heat-Pacers playoff game was going on.

She spoke to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and mentioned that sitting next to Philadelphia 76ers legend Julius Erving was "sort of unbelievable." The youngster has received critical acclaim from sports media bigwigs with Michelle Beadle and Jason MacIntyre as well as a dedicated love song. God bless the internet.

Oh and she gained another 500 new followers in the time it took to write those last paragraphs.
