The WWE already has in mind who they want to contest the title match at Wrestlemania 31 despite the fact that the main event is still months away.

According to wrestlezone.com, who cite discussions with sources within the organization, Vince McMahon, Triple H and the WWE hierarchy have earnarked Roman Reigns of The Shield to be given his opportunity as a major babyface.

Rather than rush the former football player into the position as World Champion too soon however plans seem to be for Reigns to have his big moment at next year's WrestleMania which is due to take place at the Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara in March.

One source told the wrestling publication that one of the most likely scenarios for the event would see Roman Reign work with The Rock in the title match with Dwayne Johnson reclaiming the WWE title in the run up to WrestleMania:

"It would likely happen at Royal Rumble and remember he (The Rock) does technically have a rematch from when he lost the title to Cena," they revealed.

It is believed that Johnson, who appeared, but did not fight, at WrestleMania 30, is keen to work with Reigns before he hangs up his wrestling gear for good.

Of course these plans could change, with the main event still more than nine months away, but it always interesting to hear what the WWE bosses have planned for their stars, and which storylines will be entertaining stars in the future.

What do you think? Do you think Reigns deserves a shot at the title?
